The latest Radio Bailrigg Alumni news...

> Website Update
Edited: 24th May 2006

It's been a long time since I've had the chance to add an update to this site, however a few things are going to change in the next few weeks.

You will soon see improvements in the gallery, which will make uploading images much simpler and therefore, hopefully, increase the number of photos available. If anyone has any Bailrigg-related photos which they would like me to post on the gallery then please let me know.

I have also spent some time on the forum this evening, removing all the bogus threads and accounts that have appeared in the last couple of months. It's clean and tidy now, and all new accounts will have to be verified by the administrator, so hopefully this will stop fake accounts springing up.

> Reunion: post mortem
Edited: 5th February 2006

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the reunion two weeks ago, even if you were only able to be there for one afternoon. I will write a full review of the weekend in the coming days (for those who want to look back in a few years time and actually remember what took place) so if anyone would like to submit photos from the event, email them to me at the usual address and I'll post the best ones on-line. For those who were unable to make it, I'm afraid to say you missed a fun weekend but I'm sure there will be another one in the not too distant future.

> Are you coming to the reunion?
Edited: 7th January 2006

If so, please complete and return the forms that are now available in the Events section as soon as possible. I need confirmation of all those attending so I can complete the booking of venues for the weekends' activities, and I need contact email and phone numbers of those coming to the reunion so I can let you know of last minute changes.

Many thanks. Hope to see many of you on the 20th-22nd January.

> Reunion approaching fast!
Edited: 24th December 2005

Thank you to all who have given comments and suggestions on the plans for the reunion that are currently posted here. It's all looking promising for the end of January, particularly with the number of people who have said they are hoping to attend.

I will put together a 'booking' sheet before the New Year which I will need all those who are attending to complete as soon as possible. This will give a good idea of numbers for each of the events over the weekend, and allow me to draw up a schedule for show slots. I know some of you are eager to know how long you've got on-air so you can put playlists together, so I will do this as early as I can.

Please keep checking back here for the latest news, and keep your comments flowing on the forum. After all - it's your space to use to keep in touch with those you knew in your time at Bailrigg.

In the meantime thanks for all your support and have a fantastic Christmas and a fabulous New Year!

> Changes to planned reunion schedule?
Edited: 20th November 2005

Having posted a provisional schedule of events for the reunion weekend, I have now had feedback from people hoping to attend. Many have been in favour of a meal at the Lancaster House Hotel, however some have suggested that the price of the meal is deterring them from coming.

To be as inclusive as possible, changes have been suggested. See here for the new details.

> Potential reunion schedule revealed
Posted: 6th November 2005

With the Christmas vacation looming nearer, work is underway to get the reunion arranged before people become distracted by festivities.

A provisional schedule of activities has now been arranged and in order to confirm these arrangements we need a good indication of numbers - more than ever we need to know if you're going to attend!

Please have a look at the itinerary here and then email me or leave a message on the forum to let me know if you're interested.

Your comments and suggestions for the weekend are still welcomed via the same channels.

> Website design tweaking: opinions wanted
Posted: 1st November 2005

As part of the development of this site, you may notice significant changes being made between visits. I'm attempting to improve both the layout of the site, by making it easier to read and navigate, and the underlying code to prevent browser errors.

I would welcome any comments or suggestions on these changes - which bits do you like and which bits do you dislike? How can I further improve the site?

Please email me or leave a message on the forum with your ideas.

> Reunion to go ahead in January
Posted: 23rd October 2005

It's only three months until the planned reunion, but plenty of you have expressed an interest in attending so it's looking almost certain to go ahead on the weekend of 20th-22nd January.

To date there are 53 people who have said they are hoping to attend, but there's room for plenty more. If you're intending to come up/down/across for the weekend, then contact me so that I can add you to the list - who knows, your name on the list might be the deciding factor in encouraging someone else to attend as well!

Also, if you're in contact with someone from your time at Bailrigg who you think may not know about the reunion, then please pass the message on or point them in the direction of this website.

If this is the first you've heard about a reunion, click here for more information.

> Introducing the all-new Radio Bailrigg Alumni website
Posted: 5th October 2005

Hello and welcome to the latest incarnation of Radio Bailrigg Alumni - the website for former members of URB/Bailrigg FM, the student radio station of Lancaster University.

Come in and take a look around. This is your space so make yourself at home and contact me if there's anything missing which you would like to see me add!

I won't go into great detail about the website here - news stories on the front page will be brief - so for an introduction to the site and what it aims to achieve, click here.
