A bit about Radio Bailrigg Alumni...
Welcome to the latest incarnation of Radio Bailrigg Alumni - the website for former members of University Radio Bailrigg/Bailrigg FM, the student radio station of Lancaster University. For several years there has been a web presence for ex-members of Radio Bailrigg, in the form of a mailing list and Yahoo! Group, and patches of information about the history of the radio station carried on the Bailrigg FM website. However, with a radio station to keep running, even the most dedicated intentions of a string of senior members of Bailrigg FM have not been able to provide a regularly updated online 'home' for Radio Bailrigg Alumni. The new site design aims to fill that gap and include a little bit of everything to do with Radio Bailrigg and her alumni - the latest news from behind the scenes at Bailrigg FM; audio clips from the last 30 years; a look back at the history of the station; details of upcoming alumni events; a gallery of images charting the rollercoaster that is student radio; and even a forum where former members can reunite and remember their 'glory days'! My intention is that this website will remain very much a 'work-in-progress'. Much of the history of Radio Bailrigg has been lost to the sands of time, but the aim of this site (with input from both current and former members) is to try and piece together as much information as possible about the 35-year history of URB/Bailrigg FM. Obviously this is going to be a slowly developing, long-term project, and it will need input from as many former members as possible. If you would like to be involved in helping document the history of the station (or if you just fancy seeing if you can provide the missing piece for one of the many jigsaw puzzles which make up the history of Radio Bailrigg) please check out the Help needed! section on the left. Eventually this website will be fully interactive, allowing former members of Radio Bailrigg to submit their own articles and material to the site. However, for the moment it will be maintained by myself, in my spare time, so please contact me if there's anything missing which you would like to see me add! Please understand that in the initial stages the site will have missing sections and may suffer from a few 'bugs'. I'm hoping to iron these out in the first few weeks, but feel free to email me (or post on the forum) if you spot any problems. In the meantime, I would like to thank the following people without who's help and guidance, this website would not be here: Pete Wood at Alastria Networks for hosting this site. Thank you.
