Eventually, I would like to create separate pages for important years in the history of Radio Bailrigg, where newspaper articles, photos and quotes/anecdotes from members of the time can be posted.

1968
URY starts in York, inspiring two Physics students to investigate the opportunity to start their own version in Lancaster.

1969
URB given permission to proceed 'in principle' by the University administration.

1970
Radio Bailrigg applies for, but fails to get, union funding from the SRC.

1971
Funding for Radio Bailrigg is finally secured, equipment is built and test transmissions begin.

1972
Radio Bailrigg forced off air by the Government for not having an official licence to broadcast.

1973
11th November - URB begins transmitting full time on 998KHz after receiving Ministry of Posts approval.

1974
14th February - URB switches frequency from 998KHz to 962KHz.

1975
30th April - Radio Bailrigg moves into a new, purpose-built, studio complex in Fylde College.

URB switches frequency from 962KHz to 963KHz.

March - URB obtains a licence for a 28 day RSL on the FM waveband.

1995
March - URB ventures onto FM for a second 28 day RSL.

1996
January - Bailrigg FM begins full time FM broadcasting on 87.7MHz.

23rd March - Inaugural Radio Bailrigg Reunion held for the 30th Anniversary of the station.

2002

Bailrigg FM picks up 'Best Website' at Student Radio Awards.

2004
Bailrigg FM wins 'Best Station Sound' at Student Radio Awards.
